Pony Up! Beat A&M, I mean TCU!
What an arrogant - or maybe just ignorant - moron. Since spring practice? June Jones wouldn't prep that long to take the field against NFL team, let alone Frog High. If he watched PF.com's practice interviews with Coach Jones, he would know the SMU coaches don't put in anything for a specific opponent until less than a week before the game - maybe one wrinkle here or there, but nothing major. SMU prepared for the overrated Froggies in less than a week, just as they do for every opponent ... and nearly beat them. Patterson made that comment to justify SMU proving tcu doesn't deserve to be ranked where it was.
Maybe that is the problem?

A little falacy here. GP himself has spoken of preparing for Air Force in the spring as well as the opener for any year (baylor for 2011). No shame in that. just smart.

If you guys and JJ want to act like you were "ho hum" until the week of the game then maybe that is why we were up 41-14 (or 17 or whatever) at one point.

Just sayin. You guys are way too sensitive. If JJ left tomorrow and GP asked for the job, you guys would juice yourselves.

June Jones stated that he prepared for the 2010 Navy game during 2009 spring practices. Like the AFA, just unique offenses that take a lot of preparation. TCU's offense, though much more talented than ou defense, is one of the reasons we were able to have a lead midway through the third quarter. I'd rather have JJ but Patterson's a great overall coach, gotta give him kudos.

JJ's offense takes time to learn. That's why Padron runs to the sideline after every play. It takes time for receivers as well as the QB to learn it. Once its learned, then it explodes. However, we are breaking in some new receivers this year and Padron is still learning the offense. I suspect that spring practice focused on getting the offense which sputtered some last year to the point where it works and KP cuts down on the turnovers this year. Last year, I expected us to average 35/game. I think JJ expects that as well. If we can hit that number, we'll win a lot more than we lose.

We are returning 3 Wrs this year, entire oline, and Padron has had plenty of time...its now or never for KP...

I'm an optimist because I think he will have a very good year...but he needs to shine this year he has had enough time...

I'm not sure if I find this thread hilarious or tiresome. Perhaps a stupid waste of time is more appropriate. They won we lost. Who the hell cares about Patterson's post game comments a year ago.

I started this thread as a tongue and cheek jab at Patterson's comments after the game. I don't believe anyone on this board questions his coaching abilities but we do have fun with his arrogant attitude. By the way we are not "way to sensitive", 20 years of a losing football program cured that problem.
