It's a great question. While recruiting is undoubtedly important -- and I think we'll end up with another find class -- do not forget that the answer is to be found out on the field and in the win/loss columns.

Ponyboy...you have no clue what is going on behind the scenes, and what you hear is prob from guys that are part of the problem...

It really is pretty simple. You have one coach who knows what he's doing and has enough confidence in his abilities to play the game with the top recruits. Then on the other hand, you have way too many that do not have those attributes, realize how bad it looks for one guy to not only lead the parade but BE the parade, and they feel personal and professional pressure to make their mark. If you think the situation is unhealthy, think again. It's much worse. If we continue to make offers to Texas State, SFA, Sam Houston and directional school 'maybe's, it won't be long before we will see them on 12 Saturdays in the fall. Overstated? Yes, but this has got to stop and it is a trickle down scenario. The boss man is in charge. Or should be. Is he?

How bout the fact that everyone thinks that Klemm is happy because he got a raise and a title....

Little truth coming at you, neither makes a huge difference to him and won't prevent him from leaving...

You have one guy battling for top recruits in the country and everyone else throwing offers to kids we could have offered in January...We are playing our worst hands first and not going after any big fish...

I know exactly the arrangement...I have talked to people involved about it...

I also know one guy is offering top 250 players and making a real push and others are either not recruiting or grabbing guys we could have gotten in the 11th hour...

Nick, right on. You are certainly connected and obviously know what's going on. Ponyboy and Peruna, it is absolutely clear that you have no insider info or anyone to contact with real understanding of the internal goings on. You base your opinions on the 'feel good' vibes created by winning one minor bowl and participating in another...on your own home field vs a lesser oponent (loss) and make the assumption that all must be swell in ponyland. It's a leap of faith and it's flat out incorrect.

Is the showing disappointing? Is it really? Or are some assumptions being made?

And I know your guy, but I wouldn't throw him in the problem category....but every other guy on that staff is under performing whether you believe it or not...

We pay our assts. pretty well, best in non BCS category....time to earn your cash...

We had five commitments at this time last year. So, the numbers are consistent, so far. Perhaps not as splashy as last year's, but still some good players.

Not necc. the numbers that matter, its the quality, the number of people working on it, and who we are competing against....

We can fill our class tomorrow with Phil bennet types...why not go after USC recruits, ect...

He isn't the problem and you know it, but tried to use it in your argument...that is where you are trying to "fix" the data set...
