I have had a number of communications with individuals running this committee, but I have not actually sat down and worked through every detail on how they will be transported to the stadium.

We have a meeting in the morning, and I will hopefully be armed with much better information after that.

I can tell you that the administration shares your frustration on attendance with the previous programs, and, in the kick off email I got from members of the Athletic Department, they said, "A key part of our strategy is 'butts in seats,'" and I am supposed to hear more about how at an upcoming meeting. I wish I could be more helpful in answering your questions right now, but I ambitiously posted this to start chatter about the topic.

Thanks, glad to hear it.

Wuba,

I'll give you a call and give you some of the details on the transportation. The ticket distribution process this year is taking a completely different approach, and the transportation is being addressed as part of that process. My understanding is that it will all be handled on an individual group basis as opposed to just giving tickets and busses to one school district and expecting them to handle appropriately.

Here is a great big dose of reality to SMU. Quit milking the faithful. At some point you’re going to have to ask strangers for money. It’s called new business! No one survives without it. Sorry, four years into this and it’s crystal clear to me. Forgive me if I have offended those who work hard and our loyal fans.

probably the one thing SMU is not adept at. We need to be inclusive, not exclusive...reach out and invite someone into the fray

Strangers could also be considered Alumni that do not buy tickets or attend games that like sports.

Its simple get the list. Get a CLOSER and hit the phone!

I could do it but I'M a beach bum.

Walk up to the ticket window at Ford on a given afternoon. Those folks. Interns. Indentured servants. Whatever.

They're the same folks that call me about once a month asking me for money. It's my second year as an alumni, so they start with a $500 request. Upon hearing I'm in law school with 50K in debt, and just got finished handing them six figures worth of revenue, they promptly ask for a $350 donation. Good times.
