I can tell you this is unequivocally untrue. Until a few years ago it may have been true, but I can assure you it is no longer the case. Since I took over approvals a few years back, I have approved 99% of the items that have come through CLC. To that end, we have set royalty records for five straight years and have posted a 63% increase over that span. If you ever get this response from a retailer, feel free to let them know that that is no longer the case. Also, either provide them my contact info or get their contact info and send it to me. We want to move product, which was one of the reasons we got into Wal-Marts (see the new store on NWHY and Skillman) and will continue to move into new outlets.

Thank you, Brad. Maybe now this will open the door. Put presure on the retailer...

A little off topic, but the set up for SMU at the new Walmart is great. They have our gear prominently displayed in the front corner of the store, front & center before you can get to the UT/OU gear. A couple of mannequins wearing SMU, holding a flag, looking like they're loving life. It's pretty generic stuff, about the same quality you see in the grocery stores, but still great positioning, and a lot more selection than we're used to seeing outside the bookstore.
Also, seeing more than half the B/N Bookstore converted to all SMU clothing is cool. Who needs books?

I'm just sharing what I was told. Perhaps a strained relationship in the past has led to the lack of current merchandise but TCU has at least 5x the amount of SMU, so what he was telling me made sense. Had I known what you posted, I would have told him otherwise but I'm glad you now know his perception, Brad. It was the location in Fairview. After visiting the store and seeing the other locations, i realize Rally House has become a significant player in the market.

Brad, just how does it work? Doesn't Adidas have some restrictions? They bring a mockup to you or our agency and we check, logos, colors and appropriateness of attire?

Vendors submit designs through CLC (Collegiate Licensing Company) which we then check for logos, trademark registrations, etc. Then we approve and they can begin production. That's it. Pretty simple actually. This is the same way it works for all CLC schools (Texas, TCU, SMU, etc.)...

Hey Brad - how come we still see the Phony Pony out there? Saw a photo of the new cheer uniforms - quite possibly the Phony Pony on them also? Plus, see this thread - our own bookstore!

"Until a few years ago it may have been true"--I knew Bob Sharp was controlling the SMU logo monopoly!
Thanks Brad for your explanation.

#1 none of this would have been a problem had you gone to Gameday Cloth like you were supposed to.
#2 Brad rules!
