JJ seems to have more power, his passes come off like missles. Also clearly checking his options better. Just can't make the throws as well.

McD is a little sidearmy, but if you can make it work I have no problem. Is his release slower than KP or is it just me?

I think his delivery is pretty gross. I know others think he's doing a great job so maybe it's just me.

JJMcD has the strongest arm in all of college football.
No, obviously he's not out there with a top shelf arm strength but he's not lofting up noodle-armed ducks that can't make it past 15 yards like some are arguing. Do you think he lacks arm strength?

I thought last year JJ had a much stronger arm than Padron.
Padron grew in the offseason and I think they are probably about equal now.
Neither of them have a gun.
Padron's release is much quicker than JJ's. But JJ makes quicker decisions right now.
Padron has more talent, but until he starts reading defenses better, JJ is going to have the advantage.

I like "side arm"... I believe having the ability to
quickly deliver the short to mid ball either to the left or right, while facing forward without moveing your feet, by Adjusting your arm angle and delivery motion is a real talent that few QB's other than Colt Brennan have mastered. If a QB has to rotate his body before release then lock on and wind up he is telegraphing. I would be interested in Dr. Deaths opinion on Side arm.

If we are talking about arm strength, I think we should use Taylor Thompson or Margus Hunt as our QB.....

Some NFL QB's who threw side-armed:
Rich Gannon - Kenny Stabler - Jeff George - Bernie Kosar... and there are more.
Stabler won a
SB and was league
MVP and the most accurate passer of his era by far.
Gannon got to a
SB, was league
MVP and extremely accurate.
George was a freaking weapon when his head was right and
Kosar looked like an ugly duckling but always seemed to get the job done.
Statistically the most efficient college QB ever was
Colt Brennan... highest single season rating of
186.0, most TD passes in one season w/
58, highest career completion percentage of
70.4 and second all time in passing TD's w/
131, yet on
426 less passes than current leader,
Graham Harrell, who had
134.
So... side-arm is fine w/ me. Many have proven you can win w/ this motion. Just be accurate. That's the biggest key. Heck,
Stabler even won a game when he intentionally fumbled the ball!
Underhanded!

It is all about who gives your team the best chance to put the most points on the board for your team and hopefully is also a great teammate and you would like for that position to be a leader. Anyone think the leading Heisman candidate, Kellen Moore, from Boise would have a chance at SMU? One of the weakest but best arms I have ever seen.
