They have plenty of depth and won't really miss Brock...interchangeable parts in a unique Defensive system.
It will be tough to move the ball on them, unless we get plenty of good runs from Zach Line. But because he isn't working out due to injuries during the week, he doesn't have much gas/wind in the 4th quarter. SMU needs to play Williams and Rashaad earlier in the game to give Line some more energy late in the game.

i dont think their system is all that unique - they have just done a great job recruiting personnel - lots of speed in the front 7

Saying they wont miss Brock is asinine. He was an honorable mention All American last year. He is the best player on that defense. They will miss him greatly.

while i agree he has been fantastic at corner, but this guy is a playmaker... look back at everyone (myself included) that threw him under the bus after tech last year, but this kid can play. he reminds me a lot of mccann... keep him on PR. I will put 100 on hium scoring a td on PR if he stays healthy

i concur... i was actually with a fellow ponyfan who has watched JJ in practice (i have not) and said that he was not as impressed with him as all of the reports on pf, rivals, and scout. i thought JJ looked good. My comment to the other ponyfan was that this is only JJ's second year at wr. i want SMU to beat tcu as bad as anyone on this board, but losing to TCU and AM is not the key losses to our season. think conference and navy...

Let me re-phrase....obviously they will miss an athlete like Brock of course, but they have plenty of depth and capable athletes to fill in very handsomely for his loss is my point. Losing a player of that caliper on SMU would be a much bigger loss then at TCU at this stage of our programs.
Actually TCU's defense scheme a 4-2-5 which is somewhat unique.

I think they replaced Brock with Kenny Cain and alot of Frog fans have been wondering during the offseason how they were going to keep him off the field-so its a loss but they are relacing him with quality. He is a 2 year letterman Junior who played as a true freshman and sophomore and was highly recruited. 13 Tackles including a sack in his first game. All-American candidate Tank Carder had 6 tackles. TCU two big injuries to starting RB Ed Wesley and LB Tanner Brock were probably at the positions they could most easily be replaced by quality replacements

He's a play maker and makes everyone better.....ask Tank. They'll still have 5 sacks.

Penetrating analysis, stangs. TCU has a front 6, not 7, by the way.

Actually, the system is very unique. Read about it here: http://tortillaretort.fantake.com/2010/ ... -sideshow/, with some amplifications here: http://purplewimple.fantake.com/2011/01 ... ons-4-2-5/
