Although I admit, it was a great game played by SMU, there was poor officiating in the game- the C-USA commissioner even said so. The first drive of the game, the interception that was called back was bull. Any way you look at it, whether you like TCU or not. And the final two flags of regulation play, were a little ludicrous. The double penalty against TCU should have had flags on both teams and only resulted in 15 yards, not 30.

That aside, it was a well-played game by SMU and JJ did out-coach Patterson that day, no questions there.

The first call looked bad but it is difficult to see because CBS did not get a look at the whole play only the end. Those flags at the end of the game ended up being irrelevant.

It was fairly called. End of story. What Patterson is really saying is that, as the #20 ranked team, his team deserved the benefit of the calls -- not fair officiating.

I saw the ref make the same call against SMU (I was sitting on the yardline where it happened 4 rows up) on one of their late scoring drives. They called it tight, but they were consistent.

Yes. Patterson ought to be ashamed for making such excuses. The very definition of a sore loser.

Wow- sunbelt, really nacho? I think yall have let this win get to your head a little too much. Who lost to Army in the Armed Forces Bowl last year? oh yeah... Too bad the SMU/TCU game was officiated by C-USA refs, and the conference actually admitted that there was poor officiating. One game does not make you that great of a team. You're bound to win one every once in a while and if you think for a second that SMU is better than TCU think again. I bet if they had a rematch TCU would win no doubt- especially with some unbiased refs that did not overturn an interception due to "pass interference". If SMU had been getting all of these calls yall would have been griping about how unfair it was. For someone who has gone to SMU games their entire life and supported their team up until the past two years, it's crazy how one little game makes all of you think that SMU is superior now and let it get to your heads. 0-13?!? Have fun losing in the years to come and in your next little bowl game

SMU is superior to TCU in everyway except on the football field. Guess what. We have just taken that from you as well. go back to killerfrogs.

Something along the lines of:
"I can tell you this much, I know why I left the [Mountain West] conference now."
