Here's the thing. I don't think the Big East is simply going to roll over and die. The remaining schools are going to band together and make some offers...if only to finish out their contract. And what Norm suggested makes sense, not only to SMU, but the entire conference.

I would prefer this scenario to the Big 12 or any other pipedream. We get to continue playing competition that we can beat regularly, and at the same time have a realistic shot at a BCS bowl in the next 3 years. That is insanely exciting.

I like Corby a lot, but he does make crap up. I shot him an email after he went off about "how June Jones made a bunch of comments about Gary Patterson" after GP blew up the other day.

He also was talking about how few SMU fans were there and how they didn't even sell out their 5,000 ticket allottment. He seems to have missed the part about how we didn't get anywhere close to being offerred that many tickets since their crappy stadium is at half-capacity.

Corby is a bit much at times. Although I have heard him say great great things about the boulevard experience. He seems to envy that a bit.
