Hope those things are bright. They look like lights from a 2A high school

They probably did a photometric study on the brightness for the whole stadium and these lights will 'blend' in so the corner lights won't be so direct.

Looks like they will be installing 4 additional light clusters on the east side (there will be one more to the south of the one being installed in the photo) and I would assume 4 more on the west side. Will be interesting to see if these replace the ones in the corners or augment them.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

I asked the electrician installing the lighting and he said no poles on the west side were to be installed...(at least by him.) Two light poles installed with clusters on east and at least one light cluster attached to the top of the boxes on the south end of the west side. Seems logical to add one cluster to the west boxes north end but didn't see any plans for that.

The worst thing about the old lights is the angle that it reflects off the field back to the TV camera's. It doesn't look like they used the low reflective plastic like Boise requested (Boise replaced their new field just because of this issue).

Sitting in the stands, you can see the sheen of the reflection. The camera's see it worse. It can almost make it look like you are watching a game in the fog..or after fireworks...because it affects the contrast or something.

It will be MUCH easier to see each and every one of the 60,000 fans at Ford. :-)
