Hate to hear they are hurt and wish them a speedy recovery. Can't really digest this information just now as I am still near panic over UCF and their vaulted defense. How can we run or pass against such an awesome defense. They totally shut down CSU for goodness sakes! They completely dominated FIU’s running game.
They are just so awesome and they are #2 in the nation in total defense.
How do we stand a chance?
This is why we should have a mens track team. Then we could have a vaulted offense

Their defense is very good, but football luckily has three phases and I think we are much more well-rounded in watching a bit of their games. Its great to think of our team and how we have playmakers at every position (every other week at CB) now. McD getting settled, Line - who has out rushed their top two RB's combined - not to mention our dirty depth at WR and we have Beas back. I actually feel comfortable on defense now with great playmakers like Thomson, Reed, Davis, and a hopefully healthy Banjo. It's already be said, but the UCF game is ours to lose.
Also the news about the USM RB's is unfortunate. They do have a quarter back too though.

We are allowing less than 300 yards per game (pretty good).
Our biggest issue isn't depth but lack of turnovers (theme for the 2nd year now). We create some turnovers and our D will look much better.
UCF hasn’t come anywhere near to facing a defense as good as ours. Shut down their offense (which is very run dependent) and give our passing game a chance and we could roll big points up on this team. They don't sack well at all and we protect very well.
Do it early and quickly and this could be a blow out game for us. And a blow out might just be enough to get us ranked.
I totally agree and because its a home game, we have a week to prepare and a week off to heal, there is not a reason why we can't run up and over these guys.

I remember commenting while watching Navy/Southern Miss that the two teams were really beating each other up. I wouldn't be surprised if Navy lost some players from that game also

It did look that way, but on the other hand, Navy did not play their co-leading rusher Teich.

EDIT: And they still ran for 421 yards.

just looking at this closer. USM had their top 3 backs already out BEFORE they played Navy.
and, they still ran all over them. they must have some Oline.

Those back-ups were pretty damn good- I think they moved a receiver and he looked like a great athlete

there is every reason to be confident about our game with UCF - but dont think we are blowing them out - we arent. we will have to fight tooth and nail for a win. I want to beat these guys badly - they kept us out of the Liberty bowl last year and made us play basically another home game in which we were understandably flat. Time to get even.
