We could get ponyfans box going

On the waiting list. I have 6 in the club but they're noncontiguous. Need a suite to get together.

It just kind of has a sterile hospital feel to it (not knocking all of the good folks who contributed to it). I would love to hear of a nice cosmetic upgrade to enhance the game day experience.

Could you provide some examples of what types of upgrades you are talking about?

More suites make sense, we may not yet have enough butts in seats but we have a good amount of alumni willing to spend (perhaps more than schools of comparable size) and we can sell to businesses. No reason to quickly ad 10k+ in seating that will not be filled, when we can add suites that will be filled and make more per seat and total. Just need a way to better connect the suites to the actual game on the field (decks and open windows, Jerry style in ground suites?).

As far as IPF, will wait to see a blueprint, but anything SMU builds is never sub-par no matter what conference we are in. Not to mention if its in UP, we have to get past some strict zoning. No clue where to build it. Most of the land we owned has been set aside for more academic buildings/research facilites according to the most recent master plan and we need them as the school continues to make monumental improvements.

I sit in the club level and can tell you two things:

1. We have way too many empty seats in there as well (no shows).
2. Many of the fans there and in the suites are elderly or have physical limitations that make it difficult to enjoy the game without air conditioning or having to stand and sit a lot.
3. Many of these fans behind the window also have bought season tickets in the bleachers that they give away.

Good news: Many if not most of my game time neighbors have made many very generous contributions to SMU over the years. But I absolutely agree that it is nice to be out of doors among the crowd if it is an option.

Boxes/suites are all fine, but we need visible fans. Yes, it can get uncomfortable outside, but...

I have a friend whose dad is USC alum. (He is too.) His dad has tix halfway up on the 45. 8 tix. So he can see "his" team. Been there for about forever, and we are tlking the LA Coliseum for cryin' out loud.

Let's win and move on from there.

Go Ponies!

Whatever, the people who sit behind the glass curtain are in fact invisible fans who add nothing to the overall game experience. Hopefully, the seats they give away in the "bleachers" are actually used and are not a part of the many empty seats in the prime locations. We need butts in the visable seats that are loud and boisterous. I can afford to sit in the club and have been offered seats there but what is the point. It is a college football game and the team expects and demands our vocal participation.

I'm glad that you are young and healthy and don't suffer from respiratory disease or rheumatoid arthritis. Maybe some of the real old timers who have donated to SMU for 50 or 60 years should be told that they can't ride the elevator and should have to sit outside in the 100 degree heat so that the stands will appear more full and make you feel better.

If you are in good health, it would be great if you could sit with the common folk, and

wear red and blue and make lot's of noise.

I was upstairs last game for one quarter and although it was cool and offered adult beverages, its just not the same as being out in the stands and cheering the Stangs on. I don't understand why they didn't have windows that open so when the weather is nicer they could pull open so that when the fans cheer the team could actually hear them?????!!!.... But what do I know?...

They were talking about inside/outside suites possibly around hall of champ area or the useless corridor bar seats.

Hey Mr. Pompous, not saying they should do away with the club, just saying the people who sit there add nothing to the game experience. There are plenty of "old timers" sitting down in the "bleachers" who do just fine. I am healthy and I am also glad you think I am "young"

If you are old and gate others standing and cheering, go in the club. If you are young, virile, sans-oxygen machine, don't have a cane, etc., sit outside!
