you're joking but the funny part is that is actually valid. Same situation as last year when Nevada beat Boise and cost Nevada (and the WAC) a considerable amount of money. A bizarre way that the system works sometimes.

Glad somebody said this. I love how we have one bad game out of the last six and suddenly our loss to Coog High is somehow all but assured now. We got our butts handed to us, but unlike previous years, I don't see this team standing for that. Not saying we look past anyone or that UH is not deserving of their current ranking, but can we please get out of the habit of giving up games before they are even played?

Our D needs to do more than they did against USM to beat the Coogs. They have to find a way to presure Keenum. UH puts up a whole lot more points with their hurryup than USM. But I agree, the D overall was not our problem. The offense needs to get back to basics and clean up the mistakes: get the snaps right, clean up some of the blocking, stop the damned false starts (really driving me nuts), and JJ needs to get the ball out faster and with a little more zip. All correctable, and all things they have done this season. We control our destiny, and we blew that chance last year. Hoping we don't do the same this year.

Not too many teams put up more points than USM....check their scoring...
They are very comparable...both have lots of athletes and a senior QB that can move....
USM is better than Houston...

They are a better team all around...
Houston is good, but USM would beat them

Houston has about 6 Home Run hitters-Southern Miss doesn't come close to that. UH is much better than Southern Miss on offense.

Sure they can. It is just that they are not in control of their own destiny, even if they win out, compared to AQ's. It will take some teams higher up in the polls losing and working their way down. They kind of remind me of Hawaii's last bcs team in that they went undefeated with several high-scoring narrow victories over "weak teams" but so many other powers knocked each other out of the bcs standings.
