looked like the west side stands were their most crowded yesterday during the homecoming presentations...I'm convinced there were lots of students who must hang out on the "Vard and only came in yesterday to see who got Homecoming Queen

I agree. It was one of the better showings from the students this season, but it was highest during the presentation.

yesterday's announced crowd was 20,106 bringing total attendance for the season to 89,812 or 22,906 per game

I expect a good crowd vs navy but that will likely be offset by Rice

In defense of the students, looks like we have a core group that gets into it and is pretty active during the game. Plenty of camera shots from up above and behind them and together with the band, looked pretty good. Not sure what percentage of students are actually attending, but I'm sure the team appreciates those who are out there making noise and supporting them

Go Ponies. Beat Navy!

Beat Navy and Houston. That's the best way to have a decent crowd against Rice.

Agreed but it would be marginal. I know people in classes dont want to go, because (yes this is crazy) they dont even like football. Sadly with a small university, whether you dont like football or want to cheer on growth teams, you should take your freaking ID scan in and just sit in the stand and talk with your friends. We really need 80% of the undergrad out there, which sadly is like a whopping 5400 student.

Remember this is not held in Texas, but the annual Turkey Day Game between Webster Groves and Kirkwood, Missouri draw on average, 15,000 people @1:00pm on Thanksgiving day. Game is played at their respective high school football stadiums, alternating locations each year. This is the oldest high school football rivalry west of the Mississippi, started in 1906. When their varsity football teams participate in the state playoffs, their JV teams play each other and still draw that attendance(like the last three years).

It used to be that we played TCU around, if not on Thanksgiving. Why did that change? I guess for attendance reasons.

When it became a non-conference game

Maybe they could make it a requirement that all FRs and SOs attend a minimum number of games.

GO PONIES!!!

If everyone that showed up on the Boulevard each time actually attended the games, the attendance issues would go away.

I think that yesterday we would have had to turn some away.

Boulevard was crazy packed yesterday. I think they need to shut down the boulevard 30 minutes before kick off. UNT does it, and they have a more crowded stadium than us.

You don't have to go home but you can't...stay...here...

There was nothing acceptable about student attendance yesterday at any point of the game
They didn't show up by Kickoff
Most didn't show up at all for the Game at all
They did their usual disappearing act after Halftime
I'm tired of the excuses for SMU fans including students
