This is a message board. I didn't put it into the movie... I mean, just the facts, but I didn't go beyond it.

Thad, you should do a hidden camera expose on UT athletes receiving freebies from boosters all over Austin. It would be the easiest project you could imagine. There isn't a journalist within 100 miles of here ( I live in The People's Republic) with the nerve to touch that story. The territory for such a project is wide open.

Thad, Do you think it was a coincidence that Charles Wright, the head of the NCAA's infractions committee at the time, drove an ORANGE Cadillac? I'm sure he could have cared less about that loss!

wow, i knew UT had major influence but i didn't know they had the chairmanship of the infractions committee at the time. So they controlled Belo and the NCAA infraction committee, not a good recipe for SMU. Throw in Clements as governor and a political reputation to protect and it was some perfect storm, or imperfect storm for us.
