Big East is a basketball conference. KU is a basketball school. Makes sense to me!
(By the way, thanks for taking Turner Gill off NU's hands for them....)

Turner Gill should have gone to Auburn. He would have done great.

Would have been a much better situation, but I don't think his "no girls after 10pm" policy would have worked very well down there either.

Really? In 5 years when the BigTXII tv deal is over and tx, OU, osu and tech go PAC and SEC, what are the Jhawks going to do? Go MWC? Or will the 5 suckers raid the big east for BSU, SMU, UH, BYU?

I think they are dreaming of a B10 offer, much like Missouri.

Big 10. After Nebraska, the Big 10 didn't want another embarrassment (a school losing its AAU). KU just raised a ton of money to become the next NCI school and they're about to kick off their HUGE $$$ campaign next April (largely for research $). AAU is more than safe, and they're in. KSU on the other hand, you can have them.

Not a dream at all, they just have to prove they won't lose AAU like Nebraska and Syracuse.

Wow.... which storied program is that- Football? You know- the sport that's driving the realignment bus? Was it the last conference championship you were thinking about -1968 Big 8 championship, or perhaps your 27-68 record against OU. Not really sure either one qualifies on the good side of storied.
Anyway.... it's all just crazy talk.

He wanted the job but they didn't want him, not sure he would have had the juice to put together a staff like Chizik.

Yo wiseass, the comment was that the Big East should add KU because of basketball (not football). Besides, KU went to the Orange Bowl just a few years ago...more than I can say about most "BCS" team and way more than I can say about SMU.

Now this is why message boards are fun

I should have started a thread about how much we hate Rutgers and see if any Scarlet Night Ponies show up so that we can start the buildup to the big showdown 2 years from now.

Aren't KU and KSU tied at the hip? Not going to get into the Big10 with KSU at your side. Big East could offer both and a chance to be free of Bevo.

None. I'm a Pony fan too, but I really don't think SMU can be throwing stones with its bought "co-titles" and the one voted title from the 30's.
