I just don't get it. We complain up and down this forum about ways to get people out to games. Non-smu folks specifically. An in the same breath we whine about it when they do show up.

"sure. We welcome everyone, just stay over there where I don't get impacted by your presence"

Lime I said to the OP. Come by 106&107. South end of blvd. We have food. And if we start running out at the games we will bring more next time.

Well, the problem is many coming to Cox aren't coming for the game. They're coming for the free food and beer, and leaving the second it's gone. Plus, many have no affiliation with Cox whatsoever (as student, alumnus, or guest). They've just learned how to beat the system. Not exactly the kind of "guests" we're hoping for. I'll send them down to you in 106/107...

The first place my SMU attending daughter in law took me to on the vard was the COX tailgate. It worked

Don't know about your Mustang Club status, but they put on a nice meal with the usual beer. Even if you are a member and donate less than $500, it only cost $10.

Special Delivery has always been a generous host and they are next to the BUS stop. Both located across from Meadows.

That generally is the goal of inviting actual guests. :D

You are more than welcome at Cox. Get there early and you won't have any issues with food, beer, wine... PM me and I can make it formal if needed.

I'm in no way affiliated with Cox and have never been to the Cox tent but, like, apparently the the tent people is stoopid.

And the law school tent has been known to run out of food.

I'm with you Dutch. We don't ask what frat house you lived in, if you went to the Cox Business School or the Smu Law School, whether you got you a masters, under-grad, or even went to Smu. It's going to take more than Smu alums to fill Ford Stadium and who cares as long as they are Smu fans? It's 2011, Steve Jobs, Michael Dell, Mark Zuckerberg, Larry Ellison, Ralph Lauren, Sir Richard Branson, and Bill Gates didn't even graduate from college. Heck even if you are wearing the opposing team's jersey, are nice, and we have enough we'll feed ya, beer/soda ya, and send you along with a smile. In our minds it's all about being a diplomat for Smu and making people come away from an Smu gameday saying "boy that was a fun day I wanna do that again". Sure with any give-aways or promotions you'll always have a few that take advantage but that's not going to stop us from rolling out the welcome mat and hoping to build the Smu fanbase one fan at a time. If we are to ever fill Ford we need to be inclusive not exclusive.

I love it when I hear visiting fans saying they enjoyed their trip to SMU...as long as we win the game...it's good to be a gracious victor

You are welcome to stop by the Boulevard Social Club tent. We'll have the other games on tv and you can grab a beer. Also, the Cox tent always has free drinks and food. You usually need to check-in to get two drink coupons and a meal ticket. You will always run into someone you know like an old prof or dean :D

Go Mustangs!
