If AF keeps holding this up, I think Marinatto is more than satisfied replacing them with BYU. Personally I would prefer BYU anyway but as some have mentioned, I'm not sure how this would affect Navy's decision. And I really want Navy in our conference.

Yeah but we still need another team, because WVU is leaving. BYU was going to the replacement team for them. So we are still down one if A/F decides to be [deleted] and declines the invite.

AFA passing would be quite a blunder. You just don't turn down AQ, its stupid. If they don't go, then BYU will and that would make Temple #12.

West:
Boise
BYU
SMU
UH
Cincy
Louisville

East:
USF
UCF
Navy
Temple
UConn
Rutgers

Navy is ready to go and they have the same procedure as AFA. This has nothing to do with slow bureaucracy.

it has everything to do with slow bureaucracy -- this is going thru Washington for approval. different chains of command.

i would tap the breaks on the article by Schwab... he's has virtually no access to legitimate "chatter" ... Calhoun and the SID run a real tight ship on what goes out to the media and their access points. on his twitter account, Schwab has been saying he knows nothing and is "running into dead ends with his contacts" for the past month or so. he probably has some second tier lackey in the ADept and ran with it to get some page views. thats a guarantee.

AFA will be in the conference.

Washington has given AFA permission. It is an AFA general that is holding this up.

SDSU's AD has been talking about SDSU being *football-only* to the Big East. SDSU would put their other teams in the Big West...SDSU can take a bus to every Big West school except for Hawaii, and Hawaii will pay for all the travel expenses for Big West schools going to Hawaii.

The Big West's commissioner was asked if they would add Boise State and said that they wouldn't add just 1 school since they wouldn't want to have just 11 teams. However, he said that they *would* expand to 12 teams if the right pair of schools would apply. The Big West has openly wanted San Diego State--great location, great basketball program, so it has been said that SDSU can get Boise State into the Big West.

AFA general likes to be the center of attention. Pentagon gave AFA permission to leave last week. Navy is waiting on this guy to make the move so they can join together. Nick will back me up on this one. Also, I say we move on SDSU if AFA does not join. A game with SDSU would help in our west coast recruiting as we need a game there every other year.
