We have a long way to go before we reach the max of June Jones' head coaching potential. We have gotten this far without even a qualified QB to run the offense.

I know he's proven himself to be able to turn programs around but with us going to the Big East we don't need a turnaround specialist. We need a coach who can compete with the best and one that emphasizes strong defense. JJ has never proven to be successful at the BCS level. When he went undefeated with Hawaii he got destroyed by Georgia in the Sugar Bowl. I am also concerned with the R&S offense and whether it is viable at the BCS level. Has any team recently been in contention for the national title running the R&S? Sure it does its job in C-USA where defenses aren't great but what about in the Big East? The Big East weather will surely have an effect on our pass-happy offense as well. And 4 Jones recruiting classes in you'd expect JJ to have a solid QB and a team able to win a C-USA championship but that hasn't happened yet.
I don't mean to sound like a pessimist but these are just my honest concerns and I'd love some feedback from you all.
That's pass heavy not pass happy offense. Sounds better.

As I have said before, we should demand him as a coach untill we start seeing trends of long-term decline in the program, such as we arent recruiting as well, or hitting 5-7 seasons (all this in the BE). He deserves 3-5 bad years for getting us to where we are now. Just because RnS doesnt much relevance in the BCS pool doesnt mean he cant modify his plans when he hits his first season in the BE. My main concern is that if and when JJ decides to leave on his own terms that he thinks of our long-term goals by leaving good candidate options and still recruited hard before he leaves. I hate to see this program fall back to irrelevancy first couple year after he leaves.

Didn't Georgia "destroy" a lot of other teams that year that weren't using the "run & shoot"?
Why worry about things down the road we have zero control over?
OMG...whose gonna be our coach in 2020!
Dude enjoy the moment now....winning records, bowl games, conference upgrade, ect...

This is utter silliness. Never proven to be successful at the BCS level? This is based off of what? The Sugar Bowl against a great UGA team? I don't think he has a track record at the BCS level...

June's fortunes will come down to his recruitment and development of quarterbacks, so far results have been dismal considering his reputation. If this trend continues we'll the Baylor of the Big East.

This question has be debated ad nauseum on this forum. StallionsModelT said it as well as I have over and over. However, for those who are saying that JJ has gotten us to the BE. How do you know that? I have a feeling that SMU to the BE is just a mirage and will never happen.

I can't wait to see what Jones can do with BCS facilities, budget and players. Imagine a team loaded with multiple Top 25 recruiting classes running the run & shoot. I suspect it will compete with anyone in the country.
I'm not sure why people keep bringing up Georgia versus Hawaii. There was a significant talent and depth difference between those teams at every position and talent tends to trump scheme more times than not.
