SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

Agreed. In Estonia the geneticists are doing wonderful work with Olympic caliber athletes and equine. SMU can hang it proudly and title it Perunhunt I, or Margstang. Makes me all weepy inside when I think about it.
Btw this article seems like 1.5 years old. And we not really using kroon's any more. In the euro currency zone, 1 dollar is like 0.74 euros.
Oh and the comment about geneticists is more spot on that one might thing, we had this whole gene mapping thing going on here last decade that we around here thought was a matter of global importance and survival of man kind, so it got a lot of hype. So by now I think Estonia has most geneticists per capita in world because for quite some years it was 'The thing' everyone went to study. Seriously I think more people graduate gene science per year around here than nursing school.
