Though making a joke out of tragedy is a common way to deal with it, there is no joke that is appropriate here. None.

I try to hold to the rule that I only attend to news which directly affects people I know or might be able to know. Otherwise, you either harden your heart to people or go mad knowing there's nothing you can do. The information/action ratio. But this really hits me hard and fills me with an enormous rage.

I pray that God blesses, comforts, and heals these victims and also gives the officials at Penn State the wisdom to handle this appropriately. Just awful.

They are, but it was presented fully as "this is only a rumor" by the guy reporting it. However, it is apparently a rumor that the PA attorney general is taking serious enough to at least investigate it.
