True, but an obsession of admin focusing almost exclusively on the liberal arts has come back to bite SMU time and time again.

Hopefully, have heard about battles in the sciences. Maths focus on applied (which means more grant generation) seems to finally be taking off, assuming they get a much needed data-center. I support the liberal arts and all depts, but people that over romanticize a few departments or see them as more attractive due to low cost need to stay out of the way of SMU becoming a premier academic university.
