They have 3 track stars at RB, all are great at catching the ball and can be split out wide if need be.
They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security

Williams is nice kid and a good running back. He's strong with some speed. I think he would fill in nicely. Of course, he's young and, thus, we will only know for sure when he's playing in a game.

We need more running plays to serve our best player by a mile, Line, and try to manage ball control. Try to give McDermott less passes, but just give him a few PA passes to throw them off just make sure it hits OUR receiver or over throw it. Then hopefully defense can protect and get a few turnovers.

Our defense is allergic to forcing turnovers. I don't expect that to change on Saturday.

So KC Niemchi is out for the year I'm guessing. Jared Williams is a stud IMHO and would like to see him get more carries (with or without Line) ... but a true freshman AND it won't matter against Houston unfortunately even if Eric Dickerson in his prime came back to play for us (well maybe a little). ;-)

We did get a few against navy. So I know they are practicing and trying hard at it, and I believe in the defense way before in the offense (unless its emphasizing on the run part)

what's really disappointing is there were expectations in the pre-season (by the coaches and players) that this would be an attacking defense that would finally create turnovers and give the offense those high percentage scoring opportunities

Whats depressing was that I believed in all the hype pre-season, and then after our winning streak think hey if we can beat tcu and ucf surely we could beat either tulsa or so miss and definitely navy...

If Zach can't go we'll see Billy Dugal and Jared Williams I believe, depending on if its a pass or run play mostly. Don't think Rishaad is experienced enough yet or knows the blocking assignments well enough

OK - Here's the really sad news: Zach Line has torn ligaments in his foot. He is out for the season

I'm glad the poster asked if Ja'Gared and Line are the only players who play hard every week. Every since the Cavan years, I feel like SMU's players are a bunch of lazy underachievers. I remember sitting in classes with Cavan's players from 1997 to 2001 - what a bunch of lazy underachievers those guys were. I felt like I was in class with Beavis and Butthead.

Tom Rossley's players had a lot of heart. Lots of overachievers there. It shows based on how well those players have all done with their careers after football. As for the players since the Cavan years, can't say much about those guys...
