I would be all for the players deciding, if that was an option.

If the team goes 6-6 with only one win against a team with a winning record, it wouldn't be all bad if the players decided that they weren't worthy of going to a bowl game.............

I'd have to question the intelligence of any players who would give up extra practice time and the exposure of a bowl. Get bowl eligible and you're worthy, you have to be pure garbage not to make a bowl these days.

Not enough fan support to play in either bowls in dallas. So why not let the players choose a fun bowl game to play in?

The team seemingly has not wanted to play for the last 4 weeks so I don't think it will matter to them where we play. I'll leave it up to CUSA and the networks. I know I can make it to any bowl aside from Hawaii and will be watching and hoping for a win either way.

Are you talking about the same players that rolled over and played dead for USM, Tulsa, and got beat by Navy for the 4th year in a row? Let's see what they do for the next two games, before they get a "treat".

Yeah im with mustangxc, screw the player's treat, they havent showed up to play, why in the hell do they deserve the bowl they want. Jones can deserve the bowl because he has brought us to three, but the players lost their ability to choose since they cant just play their hearts out let alone beat underperforming teams. I mean Im apathetic to which bowl they go to now. I wanted ticketcity for personal reasons, and sided with Hawaii but then they showed their stellar performance yet again with Navy. So if they go to a bowl outside of Hawaii, ill go just to say I went to a bowl game not to watch this awesome group of hard working individuals play. I know Im being harsh, but @home against navy and throwing picks to a team that has amazing ball control... just inexcusable. Again, pretty apathetic about this season (and post) looking forward to the future especially with our new recruits!

I'm saying the "SMU" fan support is going to be horrible wherever they play. So why not play somewhere other then in Dallas? Like in New Orleans or in the beef o'brady bowl?

Again the percentages say Ticketcity just so its not a huge commitment to fans to drive to see an unmotivated team, but im fine with any bowl thats drivable. Im pushing Dallas, because these kids are kids and not men and do not have the heart to have the reward.

I am not really cheering for the "Armed Forces Bowl" but wasn't the Blvd
and game pretty well attended last year? These pictures appear to indicate so.
If we cant go to the bowl we really want, then why not have what amounts to
another "home game" and Blvd with the Armed Forces Bowl.?

Is the Armed Forces Bowl at Ford Stadium again this year? If so, has it been permanently relocated to Ford? Isn't Amon Carter done now?

After seeing those pictures I want to go back lol, the stadium was pretty full.

And when we played at Amon Carter they still couldnt use the new section, maybe they struck a 2 year deal to help boost revenue to smu?

I'm for the New Orleans Bowl although I hear that's is least desirable and are not as 'hospitable' as other Bowl Committees, etc. We don't want to play in the Ticket City Bowl yet as playing a Big 10 team will not be what we want to see....SMU isn't ready to play those big [deleted] and deep teams. Michigan, Purdue?..forgetaboutit----Playing a MAC team may give us a win and having a 2-1 record in bowl games for the last 3 years is good stuff. At the end of the day just saying SMU went to 3 consecutive bowls and won 2 will work it for me. No one watches most of the second rate bowl games anyway.
