Just having bunch of liberal goons say yay for diversity doesnt make me want to go.

Science is overrated? Or are you saying the science departments at SMU are overrated? Either way -- nice plug for coming to school at SMU.

And how did you discern anyone's "liberal" leanings? You do know that not all educators are liberal, right?

Well I did put constraints "in certain fields" to emphasize that parts of science I find are overrated. Yes it has been stated in many reports that overwhelming majority of education are run by liberals 80-85%. Which clearly means there are moderates, conservative but most are silent by the majority. I mean certainly you knew this.

Certain parts of biology tend to be irrelevant and constantly changing, ecology shouldnt be heavily emphasize on students. Sciences that are more related to physics and chemistry tend to have more structure and facts rather than subjective theories. You dont have to agree thats fine, hence my opinion, and I was saying this relative to the tv commercial because how much do you really want to make future students bored.

All depends on how much can be funded for it. The better viewing times and channels will cost a pretty penny more.

Bear Bryant quote needed here...the one about final exams and football games on Saturday.

I am proud of SMU in academics, and now again in football.

Football and academics can have a healthy symbiotic relationship (re. increased apps, general funding revenue) not merely mutually exclusive of each other.

I hate playing the NCAA Football 12, one they rate SMU pretty low compare to other schools in the academic grade, and also whenever you start winning like crazy the academic grade goes down. So they game developers have derived a formula for whenever you are good at football you suck academically.

Disagree entirely. You can do both and there are other schools that do.

we are more recognized by Cox than by anything else. The school did some branding surveys a few years back and everyone recognized us by the bschool and the law school to a lesser degree. Not athletics.
