If there's no AQ bids, what would have been stopping Conference USA or the MWC from attempting to Wooing Nebraska, Texas A+M, Colorado, Missouri and Oklahoma into YOUR league? As I understand it there's no Longhorn Network in C-USA or the MWC. of course now that's all over. if there wouldn't have been an AQ deal before, the little guys could have positioned themselves as the big guys just over the last year.

CUSA nor MWC have the money to lure those schools into it's conference. Also, Now you will see about 3 or maybe four SEC teams in the BCS bowls and probably no Non BCS team for a while. And we SMU still needs to go to the Big East to gain more money.

CBS is reporting that the Big Ten commish is the one pushing the 1 vs 2 proposal w/eliminating all other tie-ins.
Not a surprise.

The source of one college football postseason idea pitched this week shouldn’t be surprising.

According to a person in the room at Monday’s BCS meeting, Big Ten commissioner Jim Delany pitched a model whereby only the No. 1 and No. 2 teams would be matched in the postseason. That would basically eliminate the other BCS bowl tie-ins in the 14-year-old system.

The proposal essentially is a roll back to the old Bowl Alliance that was in effect from 1995-97. On its face, the proposal seemingly benefits the Big Ten, SEC, Big 12 and Pac-12 the most.

I see you started drinking early today. Must be excited for the Robinson v. Martinez battle tomorrow. If there are fewer than 4 picks thrown between the two of them, I will be shocked.

So what if there were 3 or 4 SEC teams in? They have the money, the best athletes and the biggest followings. Forcing a business to make less money by inviting a smaller fan base is freaking communist. UCONN, Cincinatti, what have you just don't have big stadium sellout power or draw in Big TV audiences. Furthermore, handicapping a business for being successful is, well communist. SMU has produced some of the most successful businessmen and women in the world today and I suspect I may be bantering with a millionaire or 2 on this board, do you want YOUR successful business to be handicapped in the name of fairness?

Personally I'd like a playoff but even that wouldn't be fair unless all current conferences were dissolved and all FBS programs regionally aligned.

Otherwise without a playoff business as usual is going to keep being business as usual.

I'm taking the over on the 4. Might be an NCAA record for combined QB rushing though. Nebraska 31 Michigan 14. Probably an [deleted] whoopin'. UM just isn't big enough or tough enough. Unless Nebraska thinks the same way as I am, which they might because they just don't seem to respect all of their competition ... In which case Michigan wins late.
