I've wondered the same thing about McD. He seemed to be improving every week and getting more confortable, and then all of a sudden after UCF he just went into reverse. His mechanics have visably regressed and he doesn't seem to have any confidence in his ability to execute. Its really kind of strange. I don't know if injury is the answer, but it wouldn't surprise me.
I don't know June, but I bet we would have seen KP during the last few games if he were available. From everything I hear, Kaiser and Preston are simply not ready. KP is hurt, so regressing McD becomes the only viable option. Tough spot for June and the coaching staff.

Landry is the perfect comparison for June. Both viewed as legends and innovators, but never could or would adapt, they both stuck with what worked 10 years ago with almost no change.
We know what happened to Landry...

Of course we do. But we all die.

Does this mean a news photographer will find Orsini dining with the new HC at Mia's before JJ gets the ax?

Don't get me wrong - I love the guy - he's done alot for us but wondering if he's just going through the motions until he goes back to the islands? Layed back is cool when it works but you have to adapt when it doesn't. While my illustruous football career ended before college, I do know it's a game of emotion and if it is channeled properly less talented teams can win. Look at the games this week. Viloria fired up the players. Gone. McKnight (maybe not the best sp teams coach) but fired up the sideline. Gone. Klemm was fired up and visibly upset at times yesterday but the other guys just seem too mellow. I think June believes it's up to the team to pull together and motivate each other as family but if it doesn't work...Just my take.
Defense looked great yesterday. Hard to keep it going when you know the offense can't score though.
I don't know if this was mentioned. I haven't read all of the posts, but at that navy game, JJ seemed lost. When Navy was down inside the 5 and about to score (twice), June was down at the 50-45 of Navy's end zone. It was odd. I have always noticed how June let's his assistants run things. But to be at the other end of the field was just odd.

@LakenLitman during the Houston game
No fire on this #SMU sideline. Yeah they're down but when McDermott comes off the field there's zero encouragement.

I thought the OLine played excellent against Houston despite the 2 or 3 false starts. Dermott had more than enough time to make the reads. He just flat out failed.
