Interesting that his parents don't care anything about this team- only if their kid is playing. That really sends a good message to the rest of the team, the school and the fans. I was hoping he would be here for next year but it seems more likely he will quit and go else where.
I guess some people don't understand that you earn your position and must constantly improve to keep it. Nothing is a given.

C'mon, I can understand if hes Padron is not there, but parents shouldnt feel like they need to attend. Especially when they havent been treated all that well. Nobody ever mentions Padron except for fans. When it was early in the season, June just dismissed it saying its all up to my star McDermott (NFL-ready). I mean I be pissed as the parents and I feel they have handled it well. If Padron is transferring then it makes sense why parents arent there anymore. He has always had a great attitude, and I think he should transfer, because if he starts... one mistake and hes out for the season. If Jone doesnt screw him over (and promises) then I hope he plays next year, I always felt on the edge of my seat every game he starts.

First, no one KNOWS that his parents are not there. Sounds like a big assumption. I don't see how either KP or his parents have done anything negative to this team. Up until his injury, KP was still looking as gung ho as ever. I still consider myself a KP fan. Probably always will. He took us to the promised land two seasons ago. That doesn't just go away.

Alum-11, Parents attending games is supporting the team and the university- not just your kid.
How have his parents been mistreated? I have never heard anything to that affect.
As I mentioned, you have to earn your position, not just once but every day, every practice.
Was JJ unfair to him?- I don't know. KP seemed to start regressing the last few games last year so maybe JJ pulled him to get his attention.
I just don't like what appears to be an attitude of -if I don't start I am going somewhere else.
IMO- if you want to start you perform and show that you earn it.

Why must we always eat our young? And we do not even know how they taste. Did anyone ever think that maybe KPs parents are watching the game with him? He is told to stay off of his feet and in case you guys do not know it, most of his friends are busy during a game. Maybe they are being good parents and keeping him company. His girlfriend is busy at the school to the west.

Now I do not know any answers, but so far I have not heard anyone else that does either. As of now he is still a Mustang and his parents are Mustang parents.

I have to agre with the comment above about not knowing how KP feels at present. I had a back problem some years ago. For the last month, until my name came up on the surgeons schedule I spent upwards of twenty-two hurs a day in bed. Could not take a brief shower or walk to the mail box on the street without hurting. Could not sit up for any length of time. Would get up long enough to put a frozen meal in the microwave. Ate same while on my stomach on the couch, food on the floor and one arm with a spoon reaching for it.

Was taking a lot of pain medication, pretty scary really. Was glad I was able to get off that soon after the operaton.

I was not and never had been an athlete. I would hope that KP's situation is better because he surely started in better condition than I. I dor ecall that Troy Aikman returned from back surgery inmaybe six weeks which I attribute partly to his being an athlete. I know nothing of KPs circumstances, whether he makes his classes or not and so on. But I do not criticize someone who has had a back problem not getting out much. I hope KP makes a good recovery and wish him the best, whether or not he plays again at SMU.
