SMU v. Utah St. aint doing it for me. What an underwhelming bowl game that would be; outside world would take absolutely no notice. Get your sh*t together, line up against an overrated Big 10 team, hit them in the mouth, and make someone other than the 500 people on here notice the team.

The outside world won't take notice of a bowl game pitting us versus a mediocre Big 10 team either. At least the Hawaii Bowl is the only game of the day and in prime time. The Ticket City Bowl is played in the morning on a day with 5 other games (2 BCS).

It would do a hell of a lot more than eeking out a win against a 7-5 WAC school. ESPN could spin the June v. Hawai'i thing and it'd be nice.

If we win perhaps but let's be serious, we're not going to beat a Big 10 team in a bowl game, even the worst of their bowl eligible lot is much better than us. At least winning the Hawaii Bowl will give us some good publicity and momentum heading into 2012, at this point that's what we really need.

Maybe, and I know I'll need a psychiatrist after saying this, but maybe after a month long layoff and two weeks of practice, some time to heal and forget the last seven games, JJ McD comes out and plays a lot more like the QB we say v. Memphis/TCU and a lot less like, well, fill in the blanks. The QB play has been so atrocious that if we got a halfway decent guy under center, I like our chances against a good number of teams.

Now, I'm off to be put on meds for saying that.
