I agree. Try to hire Porter and Gill as asst coaches then put them in the areas that they know in recruiting.

There is a limit on the number of coaches allowed. I do not know the limit off hand and I do not know how many we have but we cannot stack them in the aisles as much as I would like to.

Hire him. Maybe as the "marketing director" if we can't hire him as a "coach" (to resolve the issue raised by Mrydel).

Yes. I'm not really sure what Wes Suan and Danny Morrison do. They are old guard coaches who apparently don't like to recruit. They could get away with that at Hawaii because they probably had small budget and so kids had to come to them. Plus, June was playing a little bit of Father Flanagan too.

It just seems like something internal needs to be resolved.

Minnesota 27
Illinois 7

I listened to it last night, and it wasn't even that close. Gophers were inspired. Illinois quit.

Suan is the running back coach for a team that has had a lot of success running the ball with 2 different running backs the last 3 years, one of whom was lowly recruited linebacker. More running success than any running backs had ever had under his boss. Granted, he was not able to develop the two freshman running backs he had last year, but it looks like the two running backs in this year's freshman class look like they will be ok, and that is not even counting the more highly recruited guy who was redshirted. So, as far as the coaching part I think he is carrying his weight.

Now, as far as recruiting goes, about all you can say is that he listened when his star running back said his younger brother could play...

Talk on TV today that Ram's coach Spagnuolo is out the door after the season. I'm sure he won't be alone, probably many college and pro head coach's will be looking for new homes soon.

Keep going, you missed a few coaches who don't like to recruit.

This is just a random thought, I would think Gill recruiting big farm boys in Nebraska and Gill recruiting the Dallas metroplex kids may have different results.
