If it happens to be Purdue, lets hope it IS a good competitive game. That's all we can ask of the boys....could be a fun one and a win against a recognizable national program. The Mustangs beat the Boilermakers!.....sounds funny though.

We definitely won't be playing Utah St in the Hawaii Bowl-that leaves Nevada or Hawaii I think as WAC representative in Hawaii

Why do you say that? Someone said the DMN predicted we play Utah State in Hawaii Bowl. Is Utah State ineligible?
I'd be completely on board with SMU/Purdue in the Ticket City Bowl. Our fans could afford to go, would have no excuse to miss the game and we have the talent to compete and possibly win. Sign us up.

It also sounds like the Hawaii Bowl isn't keen on having Nevada visit for the 3rd time in seven years:
http://www.staradvertiser.com/news/brea ... 16343.htmlIf UH isn't eligible and LTU and USU have already accepted bids, the only way the Hawaii Bowl could pass on Nevada is if they traded with another bowl game. The Kraft Bowl in SF is a possibility, but that bowl is struggling to find TWO teams. So if Nevada goes to SF, would sending Temple to Hawaii be an acceptable substitute. Is SMU the CUSA school that makes the most sense to face Temple?

If Hawaii can't get bowl-eligible then C-USA will punt the bowl to an at-large and keep all bowl-eligible teams on the mainland. Temple would bring like 5 people to Hawaii and no one on the island would be interested in watching them play.

If Hawaii bowl wants any success it really needs to improve and garner big conferences and independents. I think it would of been awesome to have an old Notre Dame vs SMU (once we were ready of course) out there. Its just Nevada vs SMU (or any CUSA team) is pointless to most people. Hawaii vs SMU is the only hope that bowl has and it went down the toliet (best for smu horrible for hawaii). Im looking forward to any bowl other than that.

In that case, it needs to re-sign with the Pac-12 and pay enough to assure a team in the 4th-6th choice range. While it is a great destination, it would be hard to expect Big 10 or Big 12 teams to bring a significant number of fans.

Best part of the article is where he refers to Houston as a commuter school...

No I understand, Im just saying if they want to be a viable bowl, where a conference like CUSA is considering booting them out is sad. As you mention low Pac vs Low Big 12/(swap every year with CUSA). Similar to Ticketcity with Big 10 and 12/CUSA.

The Pac-12 already has two bowls each with the Big 12 and MWC while one bowl each with ACC and Big 10. Maybe Pac-12 vs. SEC in a bowl someday?
