With all due respect to this Laken person (and how nice to give her credit for a story that is all over ESPN and countless other sites and networks) ... why would SMU fans "breathe a little easier" because Sumlin has been offered a job? If anything, that exhale of relief would come only if he accepts a job elsewhere.

Oh stop being such a pompous jerk. Laken's tweet gave credit to Doug Haller. And Sumlin is gone regardless of if it is ASU, Illinois, or Texas A&M.

Houston Chronicle is reporting no offer, no talks.

People familiar with the situation told the Chronicle that there has been zero contact between Arizona State and Sumlin.

Probably means there's been 100% contact between ASU and Sumlin's agent.
