Spurrier might also pay this guy a visit. I'm encouraged that article says JJ has told the family he's committed to staying at SMU. Recruiting is on an uptick and Printz is going to be a big part of that equation going forward. There will be a lot of "negative" recruiting coming our way...that's a sign others are getting concerned about little ole SMU

Printz and his dad knew these type of offers would be rolling in when he committed here. Doesn't make much sense to commit here this early knowing these offers would come. I am not worried about it as long as June is here.

Pure speculation but this sounds kind of good to me. Sounds like Printz told Weiss that he was committed to SMU. Weiss puts the hard sell on and says "I am going to come see you in a couple of weeks and I think I can get you to change your mind. If I cannot, then I will not bother you any more." Typical hard sell technique. Hit them hard and tell them last chance. But Weiss would not be doing that if he had not already been told that SMU was solid.
Now again, this is pure optimistic speculation but it honestly sounds like that is how it is coming down. And if Weiss gets shot down it will strengthen the commitment in the eyes of the other recruiting schools.

Have to agree with mrydel. I hope. He seemed pretty solid. Maybe an impressive bowl win over a Big 10, nationally recognized name brand school will help?

He is probably talking about:PonyPlayer4 wrote:Mind sharing those names?gostangs wrote:hell - Bennett put two qb's in the NFL - its not all that tough to do apparently.
Richard Bartel- played at SMU then went to Tarrelton St.
Josh McCown- played 3 years at SMU then Sam Houston
BUT McCown never played for Bennett- he played for Cavan.

yes - that is who i was referring to. Cavan doing it makes my point even more.
Re: Oh Boy... Don't Like our Odds on Printz
why would someone say "pull his offer" because he received an offer from another school. That is just plain ugly. He is arguably a top 5 QB for 2013. He will receive more offers as he approaches his senior year in high school. Eddie told Charlie Weis he was happy with his decision to play football at SMU.
And for the record he has received about twenty offers that he hasn't reported because he is firm with his decision to play football at SMU.

Welcome to the boards. There's plenty of nonsense on here. People want to fire June because he interviewed with Arizona State.GR8ER wrote:why would someone say "pull his offer" because he received an offer from another school. That is just plain ugly. Printz would be a dynamite commitment if he sticks w/ SMU. Hopefully he will.

Thanks for the welcome message. This kid is focused. He wants a degree from SMU, a Big East Championship and a shot at a National Championship.East Coast Mustang wrote:Welcome to the boards. I think the "take his offer back" comment was a very poor attempt at sarcasm.GR8ER wrote:And we want him.
