I was hoping June would stick around for at least one more year for no other reason than to keep this recruiting class together. If Klemm leaves with him, then so does 50% or more of our recruiting class. Mark it down.
This sucks. June is not the program, but he is a world-class [deleted]

If June really is leaving, it puts us in a similar spot to what TCU faced when Francione left in 1999. I recall the Frogs really being freaked about what the world after Fran would look like. It turned out pretty well.
The bottom line is that we have a kick-ass AD and a circle of big money boosters who can make things happen. We'll be OK.

We are still here as he departs
Guys when I was in HS, I didnt even know SMU existed and I was 40 minutes away. We werent much of a program before this, all we can hope for is that the next HC can hit the ground running and pull off another bowl, and hopefully get a good recruiting class.
The worst part is our next 2 years, I thought we would have a chance to show our team can compete with the Big 12. We might want to cancel those games and pick up (what would have been) easy wins.
Maybe Sumlin is coming to SMU to get a big paycheck haha
I agre 1983, but they were able to get fatterson... who are we possibly going to get...
But he poisoned the well a bit with his indifference to SMU and its traditions and his loyalty to Hawaii. No one expected to stay here forever, but at least look like you want to be here for your $2 mill. We can all appreciate him making us relevant again, and for that I am eternally grateful, but he also seemed to hit his top end here. I am looking forward to a coach that can move the program to the next level in our pursuit of Top 25.

doesn't care who wins.

Gimme a break. First time EVER? (And we NEVER went to a bowl before June, right?)
Mattie Bell left us better. Hayden Fry left us better. Ron Meyer left us better. Tom Rossley left us better. Forrest Gregg left us better.
some of you guys, geez......
June had three .500+1 regular seasons. Whoop-ty-do. It's all he was ever shooting for in the first place. It's all he ever NEEDED to do. (Tell me, how do his actions NOW - with supposedly the best recruiting class we've **EVER!!** had at our door - "leave us better?"
