Not gonna hate on JJ. Look at where the football program was before he was hired. Timing kind of sux, but I guess there's no such thing as the right time.

This is about the worst timing I've ever heard of. I hope our administration/Steve Orisini rips him for it because this is inexcusable. It's not like he can say "oh, you were going to announce Big East this week, oh my gosh, I didn't know."

The Big East news has been lingering out there for weeks. Remember a couple weeks ago when they held a press conference and announced nothing? Ease up.

JJ got this program on the upswing, and we are going to get into an AQ conference with no better than an 8 win season, and only 3 winning seasons in the past 25 years. I'd rather he stay, too, but we have a much better shot now of getting a good replacement coach than we did before he got here, and we have a much better shot at keeping the program headed in the right direction with whoever the new guy will be.

Chill out people, you are acting like spoiled brats.

It's going to be about the best possible timing that could come.

The recruiting season is early, and the Big East deal is hopefully done - if the paperwork gets signed, then JJ can announce anything he wants as long as we go.

I have become a huge June Jones fan over the past four years. So much so, I'll be following his career in Arizona closely.

Thank you June for your time here. Godspeed.

Why are you laughing? If he takes Klemm your school could be set back pretty far. This is not a jovial moment.

Yeah Klemm is the only recruiter out there capable of getting us a 50th ranked class loaded with multiple players who wouldn't be admitted anywhere.

What happened with our prized 4* from last year.....let's talk about the players who sign and enroll/not a list that projects to 2013

You have got to be kidding. This is the single biggest announcement for SMU athletics in 30 years and it is being completely over-shadowed here/online/in the media/twitter because June is accepting another job on the very same day. How is being upset about this being brat-ish? There is no better definition of raining on someone else's parade, and in this case the rained-upon is a former employer and loyal fans

This is great for SMU...the timing is bad due to recruiting though. This way we don't have to pay a buyout to get rid of him which is a public relations nightmare since he has showed you can win at SMU and outsiders think he is a genius and great offensive mind which is opposite of reality. Imagine if we can get a Texas guy who can recruit Texas and if SMU provides the salaries for him to get top-notch assistants! June and so many of his coaches are terrible recruiters/workers. I bet if you asked him to tell you where Frenship is located or Mansfield or Cedar Hill or Copperas Cove he wouldn't have the slightest idea. Ask him the names of the top high school coaches in the state.uuuuuuuuuhhhhhhhhhh. Now ask Mack Brown or Art Briles!

I never said that. I just defended people who where criticizing his sideline demeanor or his implementation of his offense. I've said I wanted June here many times, I just wanted the June that we were promised. I honestly can't believe you guys think being upset about the timing is bratty or [deleted]. What a bunch of pushovers you must be.

Look we would not be getting an invite to the BE if not for June Jones tenure here. Hope he has lots of sun block for the desert.
