Hopefully our AD was smart enough to put a clause in there saying, essecntially, 'you can leave, but it's going to cost somebody.'
If so, then that's fine: We may have half of our IPF paid for, and that's holding up your end, and I can live with that. JJ could be the gift that keeps on giving.

Rumor is we would already have the IPF built, but June wasn't happy with the location.

Don't know anything about that, but maybe he was right.

"I had to leave SMU for the IPF to be fully funded, the only way for that to happen was for my contract to be bought out. I did it for SMU and the people of Hawaii... err umm... Dallas?"

AD did just that. He had a buyout clause.

I did it because they never really accepted the geldings that I wanted to come into the stadium in front of my team. Its wasn't the geldings fault and I knew I'd never really be accepted there. And to be honest, their color scheme did not include black. Can't wait to put the Sun Devils in black uniforms with gold and maroon piping.

Then Boo-ya, here's hoping ASU is about to 'Pony Up' $5 Million.

Bennett, Cavan do just as well if they had rules Jones got at SMU.

Maybe. And they'da had the same rules if they had the clout to get them like Jones did. But they didn't.

Okay, 2 Million.
As far as Bennett and Cavan are concerned, I like them, but we'll never know what they could have done.
We know JJ won.

Why doesn't he just tell the truth...next year's cupboard is bare, he has no quarterback for his offense and the rest of the team is largely unproven. "I couldn't get my assistants off their asses to recruit and we have a big deep valley in personnel that is ultimately my fault." "My reputation will be ruined by next year's outlook and I decided to take a check and prepare for retirement," "ASU has a decent team and a number of recruits, I really don't have any love for ASU, but if they pay me and I can turn this program around, I can go to the islands and play golf the next twenty years or so."
