This absolutely.
Dear Coaches of the country:
We are willing to pay you $2 million to come put up some winning seasons.
Love,
SMU CoC
You really think $2 million salary doesn't convince people?

No way we can hire a young coordinator.
We need someone experienced enough to deal with the faculty and keep this thing moving in the right direction.
We will spend 2-3 million per year on a coach with a good track record and head coaching experience.
Sherman would be a fantastic hire. His problem at A&M was the defense. Keep Mason as DC and then bring Sherman and his recruiting abilities in. We will be able to replace some of the recruits who leave with Klemm with A&M recruits and end up okay.
He came across as a super classy guy in his press conference and has a great reputation with people.
Keep the defensive staff as is and bring in Sherman and Rossely and I think we will be in good shape and be able to keep a lot of recruits.

Not only no, but hell no.
A warmed over NFL coach who was the king of mediocre, coventional wisdom football.

We would need to check his shot records. If he was not properly inoculated before going to College Station he could develop aggie characteristics and tendencies. We had an aggie here for 6 years and we don't need to rehash that mistake.
