Damn you are right. And none of us got it. McCartney accepted and called the next morning and backed out.
WoW...I had forgotten about that...but this supposedly is the other way around...or is it being leaked that way to try to save JJ face.

All of those were where the coach accepted the offer and he coach backed out. But where has the coach accepted the offer and the school pull the offer?

It wasn't for a HC, but UCLA did a similar thing to a DC candidate back in February.

Didn't Dennis Franchione (sp?) accept the Alabama job and then leave for Texas A&M before coaching a single game?

No, Franchione coached Bama for 2 years then left for A&M. You might be thinking of Mike Price who left Wazzu for Bama and got fired before ever coaching a game for them.

Sure is going to make for an interesting Bowl game.
I would assume that hes going to keep looking.
SMU should hire Chad Morris before Southern Miss does.

CoC should make a mad push and reach out to Leach. He hasn't assembled his staff, we'll better WAZZU's offer, and Mike, you are back in Texas. Oh, and remind him that Adam James' father went to SMU. I'm sure the Pirate would understand the "irony."
