Any Idea that keeps Klemm at SMU, I'm in favor of.

This isn't about money. ASU is a better job than SMU.
Now if it is true that June claims he had a "spiritual revelation", I'd call BS on that.
Although, one might argue that it was divine intervention that ASU pulled their offer and that in and of itself was the "spiritual revelation".
If a kid is going to transfer over this, let them go.
Again, the first time in history that a team had their HC looking at greener pastures.
Wonder if any of these players wouldn't transfer to OU or UT or even ASU if they were offered a scholly to do so? Everyone is so selfless around here. I admire that in ponyfans.

The coaches recruit the players to a given school and you hope that once they are on campus they form a bond with each other (player to player) and stay true to the school. That is my hope in this particular case!

A lot of these players actually had big time offers, and they came to SMU to play for AK...So no they wouldnt transfer...

Regarding Jones hating it here ...
One thing I've been thinking about is the general culture clash as an issue that he should have thought about before he came here (again, I don't think he's the brightest guy in the world - probably just saw dollar signs and an opportunity to resurrect a program and not much more - he admitted in an interview with Bob Davies that he didn't even know about the SMU history before coming here ... dude's just not that sharp) ...
Anyway, SMU (and Dallas) are very conservative places generally and June seems to be pretty liberal. I've experienced this personally as I'm liberal on social issues and SMU was tough for me in some respects as a student. However, I'm a HUGE supporter but I can see how it can kind of grind away at you generally.

God wanted him to stay at SMU. Some players immediately called BS. Some discussed transferring, and others said Sheldon should leave. Sheldon forgot to say that God spoke to him through the voice of ASU's largest booster who pulled the offer off the table. I think most of the players learned something today.
This has to be sarcasm.

The team has to play for themselves, for the guy next to him, or even for the school. They will not be doing it for the coach anymore. But those reasons can and should be good enough. It all depends on the leaders on the team. The coaches should only be seen as a means to that end. Are they making me better, making us better. Are they working hard and doing their jobs well. If not, call them out.
There will be a team, and a school, and a bright future regardless of JJ.

Big time offers? A lot of them? Now we are stretching. We had some very good recruits and some great commits. Mostly from our excellent recruiter Klemm. But if we had all these outstanding recruits then why do we [deleted] about our recruiting so much?
Tell you what. Demolish the whole thing. We can't be pleased. Everyone. No holdovers. Not even Klemm, Nick's BFF. Start fresh.
We can bring back Phil!
