GO PONIES!!!
Seems that if ASU didn't want to pay that buyout, June could have paid it

o.k. I'd settle for jj kissing Peruna's rear and then I'd be a little happier & quieter.

That's just who June is, obviously.
Dress JJ in a goat costume and then put him in a ring with Peruna.
If he thought Georgia whipped him........
Just joking. I don't wish harm to JJ or his family.

Calallen- sure he could have paid it. It was more a matter of ego than money- IMO.

Soccermom, I love your posts and your passion for SMU. But college football is a business, like it or not. June Jones is an employee who, just like anyone else who works for a living, is looking out for his own best interests. I don't think Jones did anything unethical from what I can see, and he owes us nothing more than that. I have posted several times on the issue of coaches that we stole from schools where they were very successful: Dave Smith (Okla State) Ron Meyer (UNLV) Bobby Collins (USM) and June himself from Hawaii. It cuts both ways.

JJ's loyalty is to himself. Just like Nick Saban or Bobby Petrino. The days of Joe Paterno staying at a school for 50+ years and then leaving in the midst of a child sex abuse scandal are long gone

I know it's a business........but I feel we've allowed him to have too much freedom when it comes to our traditions. Our colors are red & blue. He can wear black on his own time. They can take dumb & dumber off our field and put them elsewhere. Junes Jones is an employee of SMU and can stop messing with things dear/special to SMU. TGIF, PFs.

Really? Recruiting players for another school when you are still employed at a different school is not unethical. Using university resources to further you employment at another school is not unethical. Wow- you idea of ethics sure differs from mine.
