These things don't happen in this manner. Face it, JJ's actions have cost this program arguably the two highest rated recruits post-DP and the recruiter that got them to commit in the first place. I certainly hope JJ has a good backup plan.

Dude, where have you been? Professionally and quietly? ...haha -- June would have bolted w/ an offer - Klemm probably wouldn't even have left if all this mess with ASU hadn't started and his stupid agent's tweet.

We are blaming jj because of his stupid actions and lack of being discreet about his dealing with ASU, about his 'most likely promoting another university' to recruits while being employed by SMU, and the resulting departure of AK. It seems pretty obvious that their parting was not on very good terms. In addition, he has no integrity, no ethics and cares less about our university.
The result- look at what is happening with the recruiting commits that we HAD. The loss of those recruits most likely won't be felt until 2-3 years from now.

Ojaipony- you really have the cajones to state that JJ handled this situation 'professionally/quietly'.

Let's just agree to disagree. You really think Klemm left because JJ was going to ASU? And then you blame JJ for Klemm leaving? Do you all have SMU degrees or are you TCU alums? Why criticize someone who's still here? Criticize the [deleted] that lied about leaving and then actually left.

The chaos that went on the past weeks without a doubt had an effect, but lets assume the ASU situation never happened and Klemm still leaves for UCLA. I think most of the California recruits de-commit anyway. I would think and hope this would be a wake up call to focus the majority of recruiting efforts on Texas H.S.
Besides he did not say he is not going to SMU, just looking around. But it does not look like SMU will sign him. Hope I'm wrong. IMO

JJ never said: "hey, don't worry I'm not going anywhere." And then left to the very place he said he wouldn't go to! He met with ASU quietly ... he didn't tweet anything, he checked with SO first, etc. I'm not saying the guy's a saint but if you are comparing him to Klemm, you better check the facts ... Klemm lied and is taking our recruits ... how do you look a kid in the eyes and say "hey, nevermind all that [deleted] I told you about SMU ... you can trust me NOW ... it's kind of like dating a woman cheating on her husband -- if she's cheating on him, what do you think she's going to do to you?

I would very much like to move on but its not that simple The fact is that every time we lose a recruit, it reinforces the frustration that recent events have caused. I understand that recruits sometimes change their minds. We, along with almost every program, have decommittments every year. It's just that this year there is something to point to as a likely cause. Every decommittment is a reminder, and it is magnified by the special ones like Marks.

I admire your loyalty and trust me I want a winner here and if Jones is the one to bring it thats wonderful. That being said, your statement implies that if Jones would have gone to ASU, he would not have gone after the SMU commits and I just don't believe that at all.

RGIII committed to UH until Briles jumped to Baylor, where did RGIII end up? These kids for the most part go where the coaches go.

Yep, agreed. They also want to know that the coach intends on staying which is a crap shoot in most mid-level programs.

Griffen was offered the bigger, better BCS deal just down the street from his hometown. These SMU recruits may never have heard of SMU before Klemm walked in the door

If Klemm would have stayed the Cali recruits would have stayed. But JJ getting all this negative attention about this move surely did put doubts into the Pritnz family for sure and they are not from Cali. If a recruiting coordinator leaves I don't are where his recruits are they will have a tendency to wonder even if they are in Texas. Example RGIII.
