When I coached my daughter's league team, a couple of coaches of boys teams, would want to set up practices/scrimmages against us. I never did that b/c I didn't feel that would benefit us....and at the age they were (middle school) I didn't think it was appropriate either.

It's completely non-creative, almost gimmicky and frankly insulting to the abilities of your own athletes. I'm sure there are counter-examples but in every instance I have personally seen this done, the coach was a nincompoop. Hey, let's bring in Troy Aikmen to scrimmage with us and show our receivers how to catch a REAL NFL throw...it just doesn't always work that way.
