if anyone wanders into my house during the game I will say hi. I'm wearing my blue underwear, red codpiece, blue undershirt, and red slippers to watch the game

I'm as much of a cranky antisocial curmudgeon as you'll come across, but its counterproductive to look at fellow SMUers like they have two heads. Same holds true w how we welcome people to our blvd spots.
Of course the look the other way mantra isn't characteristic to everyone, but enough to where you guys know what I'm talking about.
I agree. SMU fans seem so uptight - need to be more like Cole Beasley's dad. Put him in charge of hospitality. I think it would help if the head coach could set the tone and maybe mingle with the peasants occasionally. I know the big dog$ want him in their huddle but throw the little guys a bone once in a while. Mustang fans need to loosen/pony up!

This is the most important issue facing the football program. There are many suggestions, but it's really very very simple: the students have to go to the games and stay for the whole game. Start with that, get the local alumni to the games, and they'll be in good shape. Right now I get the feeling a lot of local alumni are staying home. A co-worker of mine went to the TCU game in 2010 because his wife gave him a ticket as a present. But he tells me that after that, he's not heard once from SMU. No mailings, no special ticket offers... nothing. Huge mistake on SMU's part.
