Congratulations to all. I hope more seniors get invitations, because there are several who deserve them.

man, i'm sick of those comparisons.
it's like calling a white RB "throwback" or "blue collar"
Welker is now the poster boy for slot stars. It's a compliment. I believe Beasley also admitted to studying Welker and watching his moves. Get over it. It's a compliment as a slot receiver in college to be compared to the best slot receiver in the NFL. If you think that's racist, then don't know what else to tell you.

True - before his junior season, Beasley and wide receivers coach Jeff Reinebold talked about Beasley's study of Welker video.

Beas deserves an invite......But, he wasnt recruited well because of his size and he wont be looked at much now because of his size. Just like college tho, if he gets on the field and gets a chance to show his quickness, athleticism, and now receiving skills, he will get noticed. Its hard to believe now, that he never played receiver until he got to SMU.

Yeah, but a lot of HS teams have their best athletes playing QB, and I'm guessing it's a pretty safe assumption that he was the best athlete at Little Elm HS -- maybe ever.

Will these all-star games be on TV?

I'd like to see more seniors, maybe Thompson and Frazier, invited to play, too.
Good luck, seniors -- make us proud!

haven't you learned yet? any good white WR is a Wes Welker type.

richard crawford getting good pub
Richard Crawford, CB, SMU - One of my favorite guys of the week, Crawford had another good day. He mirrors receivers extremely well and always stays right in their hip pocket. On zone plays he breaks on routes very quickly and is there to hit the receiver when the ball gets there. He struggled today with getting his head around to locate the ball in the air and gave the receiver a chance at times.

day 1 report
Richard Crawford, CB, Southern Methodist - Crawford was very impressive staying hip-to-hip with receivers and showed great ball skills and athleticism in 7-on-7 drills, intercepting one pass and breaking up another. At 5'11, 192 he showed the physicality necessary to deal with the large receivers playing.

It's their smaller size and their similar competitive drive why we are comparing these guys...not anything to do with color.

CB Richard Crawford
Southern Methodist
Crawford was my favorite defensive back for the majority of the week, showing impressive coverage ability during the 1-on-1 drills. He stayed hip to hip with receivers in man coverage and used the sideline very well without being too physical.
He mirrored receivers well and did a good job of going up to knock the ball away from the tall, physical receivers in practices and in the game. Crawford also brings value as a sure-handed punt returner.
