Hotel Palomar is walking distance to SMU campus and short drive to downtown. Great bar inside and great location.

"Dallas" Eats - Mia's for brisket tacos, BBQ at Sonny Bryan's on Inwood Road, El Fenix near AAC or Mi Cocina, both Mexican, Bob's Chophouse on Lemmon for steak

Good "non Dallas" Eats - Smoke for BBQ (drive to Oak Cliff), Neighborhood Services Tavern on Henderson, The Commissary, Cedar's Social

I heard there's a cool bar opening up in downtown soon. Supposedly owned by an SMU alum.
