Im not the biggest fan of Leach, but there is no doubt he could of brought in some great talent, unlike JJ. The fact is no player in their right mind would trust what JJ tells them about loyalty. Plus, if rumors are that JJ is leaving '12 or 13, why come to a school that has those kind of plans. Sadly the OC isnt going to be bringing anything better than JJ could now. Like most of you, we should recruit athletes who want to have a great education and to excel in football in Texas, LA, OK, etc. I just hope we can manage in the big east with some average recruits now and in the past.

Leach is a pretty damn lazy recruiter himself-its the staff that hits the road-the Head Coach is the Closer. I don't think Mike Leach is considered a Closer.

I still don't believe that most of the Cali group was going to wind up at SMU regardless. Once the West Coast schools came sniffing, they were going to go.

I'd rather lose with June Jones than win with Mike Leach. All of the former SMU commitments that went to WSU have one thing in common - they all lack character; they broke their promises.
I live in the Northwest; I can't wait to see Oregon and UW pulverize them.

I am going to disagree as well considering a number of them had west coast schools recruiting them from the get go.

I'm sorry but you're a moron. I'm just as bummed as anyone else that these kids decommitted, but it is out of line to come out and say they lack character. Tons of kids do this every year. Get over it.

Rip JJ for flirting with ASU, but don't rip these kids. They don't owe you a damn thing.

Leach is a better coach and recruiter than JJ, but we're stuck with JJ . He is a solid coach, but there are better ones out there.

Leach graduates more of his kids too.

Well does that mean we should not have gone after Chamagua because he broke his promise and was committed to Wyoming before committing to SMU? Does he lack character? Chris Banjo came to SMU after being committed to Hawaii, does he lack character? Are you saying if Chase Walling, who is committed to UNT, comes to SMU he lacks character?
