I think we should be thoughtful in some of our responses, and frankly, I personally disagree, since I think he could be used here extremely effectively, in the slot and as a change of pace back. Go Mustangs. RL - you'll be a great fit here!
it's cute that ponyfans feel like they contribute to smu recruiting

And it's naive to think that negative posts don't have any impact. As for Lewis, I would love to get this kid on the Hilltop, and SMU would be a great place for him for whatever his future aspirations are. No offense to Pullman, but I worked in the middle of nowhere Washington for a bit and while I admit it is pretty country, it is still the middle of nowhere! So he can pick that (along with 4 years starting for a bottom of the barrel Pac 12 team), or choose to come to dynamic city with plenty of opportunities on and off the field and play for a coach with a solid track record of putting kids in the NFL. Doesn't sound like that hard of a sell to me.

of course we all say SMU is the place for him, but this sounds like a guys who is actually carefully weighing his options and putting real thought into what is a major decision in his life. Give him credit if he's mature enough to NOT make a decision based on a relationship with the guys recruiting him, because coaches come and go.

I assume most of us thoroughly enjoyed our SMU experience. I always hope our student athletes feel the same way after their eligibility is spent

Well said. And from what I can gather from the article, this kid sounds like he knows what he's doing, whether he chooses SMU or Washington State. He's been doing his homework and will do great at either place. Though let's be honest, SMU has an exponentially hotter array of girls.

SMU is also an exponentially better academic school. SMU > WSU in just about anything that I can think about.

A lot of Samoans have pony tails yp, so I guess you don't want them here unless the cut theirs as well. From my understanding Lewis has some Polynesian bloodlines. Let's not act like what others perceive us to be.

We need to get Samoans, and we need to do the Haka before games. If Samoans follow their ilk like the Tongans do, it'd permanently solve of OL/DL problems. Doing a pre-game Haka would be guaranteed to add 1000 more students at the beginning of the games just to see the spectacle. That is one Hawaiian tradition that June should bring.

No way SMU could handle the brawls during and after the game that result from multiple Samoans/tongans on the team. They are crazy peoples. I'm all for it though.

man - WSU is an arm pit of a place to spend 4 yrs. It makes lubbock look like NYC. An LA guy is going to go crazy there. If he commits i would stay close to him and get yet another quality transfer. Its the SMU way.

They have a Lentil Festival...LENTILS...maybe I can understand the video game stats consideration of going to play for Mike Leach but when you have June Jones waiting on the other side is there really that much of a difference? Then you weigh cities (SMU>>WSU), academics (SMU>>WSU), NFL-factoriness (look at WSU's NFL players, basically a push), starting potential (SMU), girls (SMU)...I just don't get how WSU wins in this situation except that it's West Coast. But let me ask you, Robert, do you think your friends are more likely to visit you in Dallas or in Pullman? Your guests are going to be flying LAX to SEA to PUW on Horizon Air (Alaskan Airlines) on a Bombardier propeller aircraft. And you'll be flying into Pullman-Moscow airport...Moscow...as it how it's going to feel being on the Washinton-Idaho border. And don't think you'll be partying in LA because you're in the Pac12 North Division, where you'll be just as likely to play football in LA as you would with SMU, playing in San Diego. Lentils...sheesh!
