Really, is it really that simple?
Or, maybe, as was stated elsewhere, he was a grade issue, lots of people had their eye on the guy, and when the grades came in, we got him ahead of some others.
Our defensive talent evaluators are fantastic. They have picked up great players in the secondary, outside linebacker, and DE. Even players that rivals didn't think were great coming out of high school or JC. So, I am not worried about it.

I hope they are BE good and not just CUSA good. By the way, Hundley and Reinebold are no longer here. He said it was between UTSA and SMU not Colorado and SMU regardless if the offer was vaild or not. He does have to speed and quickness to be a good DE. A redshirt year would allow him to put on some weight and be ready for the BE.

I think Mason, Odum and Hill are our best talent evaluators on Defense... do you think Hundley and Reinebold were better evaluators?

Hundley got Reed and Davis our 2 best players on defense. Reinebold got Banjo and Frazier. I know you are trying to defend the current staff. Odum is good not taking anything away from him. The Thomas and McElroy thing have be baffled about Mason. I should of added Klemm in there since he got us Holloway.

Hill? HIll offers a JV DE that does not even make all district when he finally gets to play his senior year on varsity and O'Guin may never see the field (the coaches were disappointed in O'Guin even before the infury). Offers 5-11 RB to convert him to LB but the offer got pulled when cooler heads prevailed.

Did those guys supply the offer or did those guys do the talent evaluation. I might be off, but my impression is that Jones, Mason, Odom, and Hill do a lot of the talent eval for the team. Klemm was a foot soldier more than evaluator and Reinebold did both. The person listed by a recruit on rivals isn't necessarily the person who identified the talent...

How many of the young d-line did Hill evaluate and choose to go after? Sure there are going to be some misses, but a lot of those players we identified early, got to camp, offered, and they were valued three stars later on by Rivals...

Klemm was the recruiting coordinator(not some field hand) that means he evaluated talent. Klemm was the only person on Junes staff that could offer a player without going to June first. Klemm Identified all the Cali talent (as well as some Texas talent) and stopped a couple of ill advised offered that thank goodness.

Who are you suggesting HIll identified and went after?

Hill saw Cramer play at a spring game and convinced Jones to offer. Cramer never came to an SMU camp.

GREAT POST.
Reminds me of a new book out. Something like a "Nation of Mooches".
WORK for what you want - STAND UP in a positive way.
No, I will secretly BMW.
BMW = B tch Moan and Whine. And that is what you get from too many alumni. There are bigger more supportive fans that never even had the chance to get a degree from SMU.
Bill are you and the lovely wife coming to signing day tomorrow?

I will be there and Barbara will probably attend as well. She has an earlier obligation but should be back in time. Save us a seat.

We offered Kindred a while back, he initially expressed some interest...not sure what happened. Suan was recruiting him.

They got another 2 star UTSA commit Josh Carraway to grayshirt.
