I graduated from SMU and UT Law. Thus, I follow both teams.

I don't know about the coaching, but there is a serious problem at UT regarding their QB's. Gilbert, McCoy II, and Ash have all sucked b/c they face an enormous rush all the time.

That's not a QB problem. That's an O-Line problem. Plus coaching could slow down the rush by calling more screens and draws which are designed to counter a rush

For more years than I can remember UT has under performed with the talent they have.

What they choose to eat can still give them indigestion.

I know some people who went to UT undergrad then SMU law ... They also saw GG play in high school and were both blown away. Both claim that he is 100% legit and that UT was just completely the wrong system (ie trying to fit gg into a vince young protected system), and that he will fit much better under the run and shoot.

Has Gilbert obtained a medical red shirt for 2011 ? If so, wouldn't he have two years left to play ? I know he does not have to sit out a year if he graduates from UT in May.
