Yeah, I wish we could B*tch and Moan here but...they are almost a mirror image of what we must look like to the East Coast other than our history...

Memphis might be an easy win in football but not Temple IMO. Both probably would be losses in basketball.

We will only play Temple in FB sparingly.

The big difference to me is that we're in talent rich state and we're by far the wealthiest school in the conference. It's like comparing SMU to Tech, money vs trash

Yes and I was a very young man the last time SMU beat Tech. what the hell does that have to do with anything?

Another article...some additional info.

But as the Big East added Southern Methodist, for instance, East Coast basketball schools clearly felt the need to protect the league's greatest brand.

All I can say is thank you for getting us in the NBE. Have you read the CUSA Board lately, what spasms they are going through. The NBE is being proactive and certainly Memphis and to a lesser degree Temple are good adds. I think NBE believes Louisville and even Cincinnati might leave. So now we have a new Eastern team and will add the best Western team in 2015. Do you think SMU will remain pitiful in Bball? I don't and I don't expect Memphis to remain that way in Football. It is all cyclical. We just need to worry about ourselves..recruit kids that pay off whether 5, 4 or 3 star. Grades, talent and toughness. And WIN.

Is today the day for Temple and the Big East?

"On Wednesday afternoon the Temple University Board of Trustees will hold a meeting, which was not on their original schedule of meetings for 2012. As previously reported, the belief is that a potential move to the Big East as a full-league member is expected to be discussed, with the chance of accepting a invitation extended by the Big East coming as soon as today."

Admit it, won't it be nice to have fans in Philidelphia to ridicule and talk trash with ?

Big East is out grabbing the best they can get, in the best media markets possible, in an effort to survive. Realignment and the "structure" of the BCS going forward is far from complete

Report: Temple reaches agreement to join Big East in 2012

Temple has agreed to join the Big East this coming season, but no official announcement will be made until after Temple settles on an exit fee with its current league, the Mid-American Conference, CBSSports.com has learned.

The Big East would like to make the announcement by Monday to avoid conflicting with the start of the Big East men’s basketball tournament. However, Temple may not be able to move that quickly.
