JasonB,
Football, yes we're better, sounds like you're on track to give us a game in a few years though.

Mascot, I don't know, our knew little "thing" isn't much to write home about, push.

Recruiting, sounds fair to call it a push right now, but we'll have to wait till feb.

Facilities, I still don't understand the ponies argument here. Yes, you've got a great new football stadium and Amon Carter needs more than a facelift, but other than that what else do you have to offer? Moody is a dump, and not that Daniel Meyer is much better, but there's no advantage there. And we've got an incredible new baseball stadium, new soccer complex, new track complex, and one of the nicest tennis facilities in the country. I'll give you swimming and diving for now, but our's is being remodeled right now, so I guess you lose that one too. Enjoy Ford, that's about all you got.

Better for a few years...

As far as "giving TCU a game", i wouldn't call 17-6 a blowout.

Who called it a blowout? It was actually way too close for comfort.

Let's put it into perspective. When I was looking at colleges (admittedly back in the dark ages), TCU's campus was drab and still is. SMU's campus is breathtaking. Talk about a new baseball stadium (not an SMU sport), a new soccer field (talk to us when you're in the top 5 in the country), a new swimming pool (again talk to us after you manage to beat us once in what is it 50 years now?), tennis (Haggar tennis stadium is quite nice). Both schools could use a new basketball facility. But as we all know, basketball has always been an after-thought to football at both schools. On the other hand Duke seems to get by just fine with Cameron Indoor which is still circa 1950's. Until TCU burns down its entire campus, SMU wins by a mile.

East, you're missing the whole point of my post. Yes, SMU's campus is more attractive than TCU's, but last I checked we were on athletic message board. I was simply comparing athletic facilities only. Great you've got a top 5 soccer team and you've been swimming laps around us for years, again great, but that wasn't what my post was about.

Actually we're on a recruiting message board, everything comes into play, academics, location, scenery, graduation rates, atmosphere, women, other sports, facilities, and the like. You have a decent baseball team, a fine tennis team, golf team and track team. We have fine tennis, swimming, golf, cross country and track programs as well as soccer. Now if you'd like to compare TCU women to SMU women, I'll bet this message board will really light up.

Fair enough, I guess if a football recruit is going to choose SMU over TCU because of their swimming and diving team, then I concede, you win.

As for the ladies, I am very impressed with both schools, not sure one has the upper hand in that one.
